Before I picked up a new phone, I was using my Nanite N2 as my DAP (dedicated audio player). One of the main reasons I stuck it out with the N2 was because it had a graphical equalizer which I absolutely loved because it allowed me to customize my audio based on my listening preference as well as the earphones/headphones I was using.

Obviously, Apple does not have that on its products. Just EQ presets which don’t do much.

So I was quite happy to find an app for the iPhone which actually did its job. The app is called EQu and it costs $2.99 in the App Store.

It definitely does its job and I can honestly say it’s worth every penny spent. I’m just not sure if the EQ settings would still translate to the speakers if I was using the lineout dock hooked up to an amp. But the I haven’t exactly tried it.

The only gripes I have with it is that I wish they had the option to use sliders instead of the wave line you see on the screencap I uploaded. It can be a bit difficult to fine tune my configuration since my finger covers the pointer/marker when I try adjusting the settings for each band. I also wish it didn’t stop playing when you switch to other apps. Or maybe that’s because I disabled the option for the app to play in the background. I still need to do a bit more digging.

Either way, I’m quite pleased with it and can honesty say it’s a worthwhile purchase.

Today was the Adoration of the Cross. Attending this service in the Stella Orientis Oratory leaves me with a very solemn and peaceful feeling every time. Maybe it’s because of their attention to detail on the whole ceremony.

Maundy Thursday - Lining up for confession here at the Stella Orientis Oratory. I am no saint, I can tell you that. But I do hope God still gives me marks for trying. The true battle lies in the struggle.
